Welcome to Diversifying, CNN’s new personal finance podcast for a changing world

All this comes at a time of great economic turmoil. Rising inflation, supply shortages and stagnant wages make many of us wonder: How can I protect myself from economic uncertainty? The new generation of workers needs financial information that takes into account the unique challenges they face, including paralyzing student debt and economic turmoil.

Diversification, my new CNN Audio podcast, offers answers at this uncertain time. In my work as Delyanne The Money Coach on TikTok and Instagram, I saw first-hand how destigmatizing the emotional aspects of money can empower people to finally start investing, tackling student loans, and negotiating salaries.
I know that the advice that guided previous generations is no longer applicable in today’s world: staying in a job for 40 years, buying a home, having 2.5 children, and collecting a pension is an American dream. which feels untouchable for Millennials and Generation Z.

Instead, Diversification offers a nuanced and multidimensional approach to money by embracing open and sincere conversations. From the recognition of the growing wealth gap and the shame of bearing debt, to the pressure to secure several generations at once, Diversification will tell the stories of real people who are often left out of conversations about money.

Diversification It’s not about advice and hard love – we are going through one of the most difficult times in our history, and financial advice should reflect that reality. Whether it’s debt, real estate, stock market, crypto or NFT, people want a safe space to learn and ask questions without judgment.

On your mark, indebted, go!

Our first two episodes look at the growing student debt crisis. In the first episode, I talk to my sister about how I paid $ 150,000 in loans, and we think about a financial system that forces you to go into debt to move on. In the second episode, you’ll hear from debt expert Nika Booth, founder of Debt Free Gonnabe, about avoidable money mistakes and how to go from feeling overwhelmed by student loans to taking control of debt.
